About the Event
Andy Leask is one of the world’s finest exponents of the often misunderstood Moeller Method which is a relaxed technique resulting in a fluent musical performance without tension or effort at the drums -
“It’s not a bounce, it’s the total motion of the stick in relationship to your hand.”
Andy worked as a professional drummer for 25 years, performing all over the world before embarking on a remarkable teaching career showing his students the Moeller Method which he himself has studied since the late 1960’s and continues to practice every single day.
Andy worked at Frank Ippolito’s Professional Percussion Shop in New York from Jan ’68 – Jun ‘68 and was fortunate enough to gain his knowledge on the subject from his lifelong mentor, the legendary Jim Chapin. Jim, of course, was a source of direct information from the man who had originally defined the technique- Sanford Moeller.
From 1990-2004 Andy organised and performed in Master Classes with Jim throughout the UK in music stores and at esteemed music colleges & universities.
Come and learn from a true master of our art.
Participants are encouraged to have a pair of sticks and practice pad to hand although it's also perfectly fine if you'd like to just watch and soak up all the information.
