About the Event

Doug is an established professional Drummer based in London UK. He is currently the Drummer for the West End production of The Book Of Mormon. Along side this Doug writes and produces his own music and is a busy session and live player.

Doug had a keen interest in music from a young age and studied Drums and Percussion at Wells Cathedral School in Somerset.

After leaving Wells Doug attended the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama in London and in his first year became one of the Drummers for the show The Blue Man Group. Doug then went on to become an in demand deputy Drummer for many west end shows including Mamma Mia, Beautiful, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dirty Dancing, Joseph, Legally Blonde, Hair, Wicked, Grease and Sister Act. In 2009 Doug took over as Chair Holder on the West End Production of Hairspray and during this time also toured with comedian Bill Bailey as the drummer for his Guide To The Orchestra tour.

Outside of the West End Doug has worked for a variety of producers and composers including Steve Mac, Eliot Kennedy and Lorne Balfe playing on singles and albums for Artists including The Wanted, Alexandra Burke, Susan Boyle, Janet Devlin and Donny Osmond. He was also one of the Drummers to play on the Soundtrack for the latest Mission Impossible Film – Fallout.

Doug has toured and played live with many artists including Rick Astley, Gloria Gaynor, Sheridan Smith, John Barrowman, Bryan Adams, East 17, Bananarama, Peter Andre, Kiki Dee, Kerry Ellis, Oddessy, Heatwave, Shane Ward and Anthony Costa.
